About the Artists

Christine Toy Johnson (Writer) is a Tony, Obie, and Pan Asian Rep honored multiple award-winning writer, actor, and advocate for inclusion. Her written work has been produced and/or developed by the Roundabout, Village, O’Neill, Abingdon, Greater Boston Stage Company, Florida Studio Theatre, Ars Nova, Barrow Group, Prospect, Goodspeed, etc., and is included in the Library of Congress’s Asian American Playwrights Collection. Published by NoPassport Press, Smith & Kraus, Rowman & Littlefield, Applause Books. Dramatists Guild Treasurer, host of the Guild’s podcast "Talkback". BMI, Writers Lab, Sarah Lawrence College alum, co-founder of AAPAC, founder of the Asian American Theatre Artists Collective. Nina Zoie Lam (Director) is a former modern dancer who made her international dance debut at Taiwan’s Cloud Gate National Dance Theatre and Broadway debut in the original company of Miss Saigon. After 20 years of performing, she transitioned into directing and co-founded National Asian Artists Project, a nonprofit theatre organization dedicated to showcasing Asian and Asian American writers and theater artists, providing performance opportunities and training to the next generation. Select directing/associate directing credits:  King and I- US national tour, Bombay Dreams-US/Canadian tour, Cinderella- New York City Opera @Lincoln Center, Miss Saigon-Papermill Playhouse, works at Joe’s Pub @Public, Museum of Jewish Heritage, Pan Asian Repertory Theater, Museum of Chinese in America, NYU and Berklee’s Graduate Musical Theatre Programs. BA from Brown University.
