THE MISSING WOMAN tells the story of an
artist living happily with his wife, a talented traditional musician.
One day she disappears. He asked characters in his paintings to
help him looking for her. He travels back into the spiritual worlds
of well-known female figures in Vietnamese literature and theaters
to seek the answer.
This is the first time the Vietnam contemporary
theater introducing “The Missing Woman”—a bilingual
play performed by leading Vietnamese artists to the public in
New York City. This play was chosen to represent Vietnam in the
2003 Asian Pacific Theater Festival in Manila, the Philippines.
