Pan Asian Repertory Theatre is seeking new members for its Board of Trustees. Do you love theater? Join our Board comprised of professionals and artists, and have fun while supporting a significant New York City cultural institution!
Board members should:
Care strongly about and share in the artistic goals and founding philosophy of the company.
Be willing to work to help propel the organization to a higher level of visibility and artistic producing by making an annual financial “give or get” commitment.
Have professional skills, such as marketing, publicity, and finance, needed by the Company and be ready to work with the Artistic/Producing Director and staff.
Be enthusiastic advocates for Pan Asian Rep’s work with friends, funders, and other potential Board members.
Be generally available for 4 Board meetings per year and 2 – 4 Committee meetings as required.
Be willing and able to make a 3-year commitment to membership, as a minimum.

DOJOJI: THE MAN INSIDE THE BELL
Character Breakdown
Anchin (past & present) / Harajuku Boy (future): (20-30, Male, Asian) - Acolyte Monk. During a snowstorm he is taken in by an innkeeper and falls in love with the innkeeper’s daughter Kiyo-hime.
Kiyo-hime (past & present) / Harajuku Girl (future): (16-20, Female, Asian) - Daughter of innkeeper who falls in love with Anchin.
Kiyo-hime (Dancer / Serpent): IS CAST
Abbot: (50s-60s, Male, Japanese) - *IS CAST* An old and wise priest of Dojoji Temple who helps to protect Anchin from all outside harm.
Shoji: (50s-60s, Male, Japanese) - The innkeeper and father of Kiyo-hime who wants happiness for his daughter and hoped Anchin could provide it for her.
Monk 1 (present) / Yokai Snake (past) / Harajuku Boy (future): (Any age, Asian Male) – Monk at Dojoji Temple in the present and ancient folklore shapeshifter in the past.
Monk 2 (present) / Yokai Fox (past) / Harajuku Boy (future): (Any age, Asian Male) - Monk at Dojoji Temple in the present and ancient folklore shapeshifter in the past.

Character Breakdown
Alberto Giacometti: (54-65, Male, Italian) - A world-renowned 20th Century master sculptor who is obsessively focused on his work to the detriment of his physical and emotional well-being.
Isaku Yanaihara: (38-47, Male, Japanese) - A Japanese existential philosopher and scholar from a Tokyo family. Isaku is Alberto’s newest model/muse.
Annette Giacometti: (33-42, Female, French) - Alberto’s wife and a frequent model/muse for her husband. After a decade of marriage to Alberto, she is ready to redefine the parameters of their unique union.
Diego Giacometti: (53-64, Male, Italian) - Alberto’s younger brother, protector, muse/model and studio aide de camp. |

| INTERNSHIPS |

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre,
the premiere Asian American Theater Company on the East Coast,
is currently seeking interns for summer and fall 2013. There are
two types of internship positions available: Administrative
and Production.
Administrative Intern
(Seasonal: Summer, Fall and Spring) Candidates must be able to
work a minimum of 20 - 25 hours per week (5-6 hours per day).
Intern will assist staff in the areas of marketing, educational
outreach, and community outreach. Computer literacy and comfort
on the phone are a must. Schedule is flexible but a minimum commitment
of 20 hours per week is required. Office hours 10:00-6:00 Monday
to Friday, internships last approximately 12 weeks.
Production Intern
Production interns assist staff and artists in various areas of
production: stage management, props, costumes and front of house.
Rehearsals are held during the day, performances nights and weekends.
Rehearsals begin 2-3 weeks prior to production.
Internship positions includes a stipend for transportation
and lunch.
The most important qualifications for these positions are a willingness
to learn and the ability to commit to rehearsal and production
schedule.
Positions provide hands-on experience working with both staff
members and artists. Qualified candidates will have a genuine
interest in learning about arts management and theatre production.
College seniors, recent college graduates, or current graduate
students in art administration or related field are preferred.
